EYBS Participant

“When we (EYBS) went to the south on the Civil Rights Tour I was able to talked to people that knew Martin Luther King personally. Dr. Bernard LaFayette Jr. got on our tour bus and told us stores about how MLK really was. He and other people that we talked to were also part of the Civil Right Movement. I am from the north and it was my first time traveling to Atlanta and Alabama. I was able to learn a lot about what my people did ….. and accomplished. I loved going to Tuskegee. When our group was walking across Edmund Pettus Bridge in Alabama I realized how powerful my people are, sometimes it may not seem like it, but we are very powerful.”
