“The EYBS program has given me the opportunity to be around more people that look like me. At my school I am usually one of the only Black kids and it’s really hard. There times which I feel like I don’t fit in. I also have a better appreciation of being a Black young lady and the beauty of it. Because of EYBS I have been able to explore my identity as a Black person and I appreciate my culture more. I’ve gotten to a better understanding of who I am and I am proud of who I am”
